Smith-Butler Wedding Reception

The Smith-Butler wedding took place at the Taylor-Grady House in Athens, GA

“The flowers for the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and grandparents were done by Randy Smith, Canton, Georgia. Everything else was done by family and friends — centerpieces, arrangements, Lindsey’s bouquet. All of the greenery came out of my yard — eucalyptus, magnolia leaves, asparagus fern, variegated ivy, rosemary, Nandina.

All of the silver containers that were used (flower girl baskets, candlesticks, flower containers) were collected throughout the year leading up to the wedding, including some family pieces that were passed down through the years. All of the lavender was special order from California — wreaths, sprigs, and loose lavender (thrown at the end of the evening and beside the guest book). Lindsey special ordered the signs with the wedding date and their names. Bridesmaids dresses were JCrew. I made the flower girl dresses and Lindsey’s garter (vintage lace).

Our son, Lee Smith, performed the ceremony."
